2024 Opportunity Fund EOI

We are seeking EOI’s for AuScope’s 2024 Opportunity Fund. Submit your research proposal idea by COB Friday, 3rd May, for review by the AuScope Science Advisory Panel with funding to start in July 2024. Image: AuScope

In 2024, the AuScope Board allocated funds to run another Opportunity Fund round. As with previous rounds, these funds are intended to either (a) provide critical linking infrastructure that facilitates new capacity or access to existing geoscience infrastructures or (b) establish pilot programs to determine feasibility for larger scale future investment.

Proposals to the Opportunity Fund will be assessed against the AuScope Evaluation Criteria, which state that the project:

  • Builds or maintains National Research Infrastructure (equipment, data or analytics) relevant to the Downward Looking Telescope and in alignment with the AuScope Strategic Plan.

  • Has a demonstrable national benefit

  • Will promote innovation or transformation across academia, government or industry

  • Has broad research community support and a definable user base

  • Has an impact in areas of research relevant to UN SDGs, critical mineral discovery or coastal impact monitoring.

We are seeking EOI’s to be submitted by COB Friday 3rd May, for review by the AuScope Science Advisory Panel with funding to start in July 2024.

We are calling for proposals in the range of $25k-$300k with a co-investment target of 1:1.

Please find a copy of the submission template here and do not hesitate to get in touch with Tim Rawling if you have any queries. We will also advertise this opportunity on LinkedIn and through social media but please feel free to pass this on to anyone you may think is interested.
