AuScope Opportunity Fund (AOF)

AuScope is seeking proposals for critical linkage or scaleable infrastructure that will benefit the Australian geoscience community and Australia’s sustainable future.

Overview

AuScope Pilot Projects funded under the AOF form part of AuScope’s Downward Looking Telescope, as described in our Strategy 2020 – 2030 (2020) and 5-Year Investment Plan (2020). They each run for one- to two-years and receive administrative support from AuScope HQ (management, design and marketing). We have around $1.0 million dollars to offer the national geoscience community in this round of the AOF.

Evaluation Criteria

We invite proposals that meet all of AuScope’s Evaluation Criteria, which state that the project:

  1. Builds or maintains National Research Infrastructure (equipment, data or analytics) relevant to the Downward Looking Telescope and in alignment with the AuScope Strategic Plan;

  2. Has a demonstrable national benefit;

  3. Will promote innovation or transformation across academia, government or industry;

  4. Has broad research community support and a definable user base;

  5. Has impact in areas of research relevant to UN SDG's or critical mineral discovery;

  6. Will be available for use by the Australian geoscience community; and

  7. Will store data collected in a FAIR data repository.
