NCRIS supports critical bushfire research

AuScope is part of a national research community monitoring, modelling and preparing Australia for extreme fire events. The National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) supports this critical bushfire research. Image: modified Kathy Mason, TERN

AuScope and twenty seven other NCRIS organisations are preparing Australia to anticipate, manage and adapt to our changing climate and the risk of bush fires. The National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) makes this vital research possible and helps develop Australia’s risk management and science innovation.

Contributing to bushfire research, recovery and resistance

AuScope contributes to bushfire research, recovery and resistance through the provision of national positioning infrastructure located across the continent, which enables researchers to undertake accurate geospatial analysis. This contribution is integrated with that of AuScope’s peer NCRIS organisation, TERN - the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network. Here is a showcase of TERN’s work on bushfires.
