Welcoming Doctor Lesley Arnold to AuScope's Board
AuScope is excited to appoint geospatial science leader, Doctor Lesley Arnold to our independent management board. Lesley joins us with a wealth of experience in the field across Australia and abroad. Welcome Lesley!
Director at Geospatial Frameworks Ltd., Lesley works with organisations to develop strategies and policies for spatial information reform, open data initiatives and innovation within Australia and across Asia and the Pacific. She is currently working with the United Nations and World Bank supporting countries to strengthen their geospatial information management capabilities.
She is also Regional Chair of the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute in Western Australia, and Adjunct at Curtin University where she co-supervises PHD students, and originally studied her Doctor of Philosophy in Spatial Science.
Previously, Lesley was Director of Location Knowledge Services at Landgate responsible for Western Australia’s geographic, aerial photography and satellite remote sensing programs.
And she has held the position of Executive Member on the Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping (ICSM) Australia; Chair of the ICSM Permanent Committee on Topographic Mapping (Australia), and Executive Sponsor of the ICSM National Points of Interest Working Group.
